Why should I clean my gutters?
Gutters should be cleaned at least twice a year, preferably in spring and fall. If you can only squeeze in a single cleaning, do it after the leaves stop dropping in the fall. Time and water can be damaging elements. If they can create the Grand Canyon, imagine how effectively they can destroy your home's foundation. Gutters prevent damaging water from running across windows and doors and down the sides of your house. They also channel water away from your foundation, reducing the chance that your house will someday be washed down the hill into your neighbor's driveway. The truth is that gutters are necessary, even though they can be a bother. Having your gutters cleaned and maintained is one sure fire way of maintaining your homes value. Every time you ignore a home maintenance task you are ignoring the the value of your home. Let's imagine you are selling your home (maybe you are) and you have ignored maintaining your gutters. Hiding neglect from gutters is not that easy. It is often easy to see them sagging, leaking from down spouts or worse yet, seeing mold and mildew down the side of your home running from your gutters. Potential buyers can use this problem as a bargaining chip in the initial offering price of your home. Regardless of the size of your home having your gutters replaced or repaired will be a costly dilemma
